How to add a link to a document
In the Body field add and/or highlight the text you would like linked to a document.
Click on the left link icon (top row of editing tools, right of the Insert Horizontal Line icon) which will open a new smaller window called Add link. (Right link icon is for adding URL, email and anchors links.)
Click on Open File Browser which will open a new window called File Manager; click on Upload and +Add file.
Browse your computer to choose the file you want to use; click Open.
Once the file uploads it will appear in the middle of the window highlighted in light blue; click the Select icon and you will be taken back to the first Add Link window.
Add a description of what the link will open in the Title field. For example: "Link to the academic resources guide; will open as a Portable Document Format (.pdf)."
If you want the document to open in a new window scroll down, click on >Advanced and check the box Open in new window. Save. Add this information to the title field too, "...will open in a new window as a Portable Document Format (.pdf)."
Click Save at the bottom of the Add link window which will take you back to the page body. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save.

How to add a link to an internal webpage
Add / highlight the text you want to link to, click the left link icon, in the URL field add the page URL which is everything after ...msu.edu. For example (including one forward slash):

How to add a link to another website
Add / highlight the text you want to link to, click the right link icon, add the website URL in the URL field. Edit the display text as desired. If the website is taking the visitor away from your website it is recommended to change the Target to Open in a new Window (_blank). On the advanced tab, add Advisory Title text telling the visitor what the link will open and if it is opening in a new window. For example: "Link to the MSU LiveOn website; will open in a new window."
